WHY YOU SHOULD COMMISSION A RICS HOME SURVEY:
  • A mortgage valuation is not a survey.
  • A mortgage valuation is for the benefit of the lender – not for you, the borrower and purchaser. It will only address the lender’s questions relating to the security of the property for loan purposes. It should not be relied upon to answer questions that concern your interests as the purchaser. Invariably it will not disclose significant defects that may significantly impact upon value.
  • An independent residential survey is designed to help you make an educated and informed decision about the property you want to buy.
